OUR MISSION AS A BAND In the summer of 1999 on my way to my apartment, I was listening to a radio broadcast about children and poverty in third world countries. Having lived in a country that had been subject to such conditions, naturally I could relate. On getting to the apartment, I turned on the radio to listen further. Midway through the broadcast, there was a call for donations to the cause. My first thought was to " think nothing of it". After all, I wasn't the only one listening. There are probably hundreds of other people who would give ....maybe. As the week went on, the concern for those little children grew. I began to put myself in their situation ( which I was in several years ago). I began to see life through their eyes, the uncertainty, the pain, the fear. Even though I had lived in a third world country for several years, I had never experienced the horrors that i heard that day. After much thought and soul searching I finally made the decision that would make a difference in a life. I said all that to say this, that that is the heart of the band ABLLE. That is the reason why we do what we do. And that is the reason for the birth of this group. To give these little ones a fighting chance at life. Our goal is to help others become aware of what's going on in the world around them. To enlighten your minds. To draw you into a world that you may not be aware of. A hurting world where you can be a means to a cure. Bridging the gap, making a difference, causing a change in a life that will have an affect for generations to come. We could easily push all concern to the side. After all, there are tons of charity's out there who raise money all the time. This is true, but how many have you given to? Don't misunderstand us, we are not asking for hand- outs or pity for these precious little souls. We are just asking that you listen, listen to their cries and pleas for help and then help them in the best way that you know how. We've taken up that call as a band, and have put their burden upon our shoulders. With the gifts of music that we have been given, our goal is to raise financial support to give them a secure life through sound education, health and shelter. * NOTE: 50% of the CD sales goes towards helping children in need through Compassion International. We as a band do not accept donations for Compassion. We only raise awareness and funds through our music. |
